HRSHRM Foundation Director, Cheryl Turner, announced today the winners of the HRSHRM 2009 Scholarship Program at the monthly meeting.  The Board of Directors approved $1500 toward scholarships in the 2009 budget for HRSHRM members and student members who are pursuing advanced education or certification in the human resource field. 

Maxine Williams and Dawn Boyer each received a $750 scholarship from HRSHRM.

In addition to her full-time position as a Human Resource Generalist with GStek, Inc., Maxine has made the Dean’s List in both Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 while pursuing a BA in Human Resource Management with Saint Leo University at Little Creek Amphibious Base.  She expects to graduate in 2010 and then prepare for the PHR certification exam. 

Dawn has been accepted to Old Dominion University’s Occupational and Technology Studies where she will pursue a PhD in HR Training and Development this fall.  Currently, she is the Director of Business Development and Human Resources for MonsterClean and has recently accepted a graduate intern teaching position with ODU while she pursues her doctorial degree.
