Did you know the average U.S. employee spends 2.8 hours per week dealing with some kind of conflict? Many leaders see conflict as something to be diffused or “solved,” but skilled leaders will instead move toward conflict. They know that when dealt with well, areas of conflict actually become the areas of growth and change in their employees and in the company.
Dealing with conflict well involves starting to have difficult conversations like confronting an uncooperative colleague, saying no to a client, sharing bad news with an employee, or giving critical feedback to a manager, all of which may feel uncomfortable. Difficult conversations often involve our self esteem, an uncertain outcome, or something we care deeply about. By avoiding them, our problems tend to get worse and we experience a build up of resentment and frustration.
This workshop will help you build the confidence you need to courageously engage in difficult conversations that constructively address the inevitable conflict happening in the workplace. You will gain practical tools to address issues in a way that increases collaboration and produces innovative solutions.
