Welcome to Hampton Roads Society for Human Resource Management (HRSHRM).

A Message from your HRSHRM Board of Directors President, Tom Cochran

Welcome to the New Year!

February is Black History month. The theme this year is the arts. We celebrate the achievements of various artists and performers from Ella Fitzgerald and Jimmy Hendrix to Mayou Angelou and countless others. Regardless of your race, religion, or political affiliation, we should celebrate the many contributions African Americans have made in shaping the landscape and culture of America.

Black Americans in the 2000s significantly influenced the Human Resources profession by advocating for diversity, addressing discrimination, promoting talent development, and assuming leadership roles. Their contributions continue to shape HR practices and foster inclusive workplaces.

Take a moment and reflect or read about the lives and influence of the many important African American individuals who have enriched our HR profession and made us a better people.
